The Port of New Bedford is committed to making your stop a remarkable experience. Cruise Lines berthing facilities are located at State Pier in the Central Port Area, which sits at the heart of New Bedford's working waterfront. (Inner Harbor Map).
State Pier is the hub of passenger operations. The facility is a bulkheaded wharf of steel and stone construction with timber pile supported piers. State Pier is owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and managed by the New Bedford Port Authority(NBPA).
The NBPA in partnership with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts offers affordable berthing and labor. Your visit includes all shore-side and terminal logistics associated with cruise ship visits, including:
- Trash Removal
- Water & Sewer Connections
- Night Security
Trolley Service & Visitor Attractions
The NBPA will coordinate and provide trolley service to transport your cruise passengers on excursions to various City destinations (Your Guide to New Bedford) and attractions. The City's Economic Development Council, along with the NBPA, can assist you with special shore-side excursions . Upon arrival, cruise passengers are provided with coupon books and other promotional materials for New Bedford businesses and attractions.
